No matter what a non-believer (continually) says, negatively, about God, the faith and love a believer has in God is astounding, and we have a sound enough knowledge and understanding of the Bible, the scripture given to us, to live by it, and even as Christians, we know in places it is a bit 'iffy', I mean read songs of Solomon!
But if, as atheists are saying, the bible is saying things like God let people get away with child rape and homosexuality, I am surprised no atheist has said that God tweaked with the scripture to suit him. He onviously didn't because if you read the Old Testament, it is grim at times. But wouldn't wanna ruin a good read.
So atheists who are delibrately (cos some atheists have the utmost respect for Christianity) attempting to slander our God (who is yours aswell remember), move on and talk about something that you believe in, or alternatively, give your life to Jesus. It is not fair what you are trying to do.

For the record, I am not being 'superior' and I am just stating my beliefs.
All I am saying is that some atheists, and non-atheists, ask questions just to intice a response. Arguments are good for Christians, they make us think about our faith and assist in our the growth of the knowledge of our faith. But some questions being posted on here are by a minority who obviously feel like kicking up a stink, for a laugh, and to be honest, it is not fair and it is getting a bit repetitive now.
Arguments with some background I can take, but some are just plain annoying and pointless.

I don't think either group is attempting to cause arguements with each other they just naturally happen. The simple fact is when an Athiest says "God doesn't exist" a christian will argue that phrase. And when a Christian says "God does exist" an Atheist will argue that phrase. They both have two fundamentally different points of view and both believe that they are right. There is no compromise on this one, thus.....arguements.

I only answer questions.
Answering questions, not being a Christian, does not automatically make me wrong. Perhaps atheists and others like them are only trying to get everyone to THINK! Having faith is fine, but following along blindly is just plain idiotic.

Btw, you say, "No matter what a non-believer (continually) says, negatively, about God, the faith and love a believer has in God is astounding, and we have a sound enough knowledge and understanding of the Bible, the scripture given to us, to live by it, and even as Christians, we know in places it is a bit 'iffy', I mean read songs of Solomon!"
Remember that the next time you try to convert someone. I have studied the Bible, made up my own mind, and have been a religion scholar much of my life. No matter what you say to try to convince me you are right about your god, I will still believe the way I understand best. Next time you start pushing your religion on someone else, THINK.

My dear friend, some of us are trolls. Some of us are comedians. Sit back and relax. God, if he is real, has survived much worse and really does not need you to defend his honour.
Keep in mind that atheists are a very small minority with a very long history of persecution. They fear that the religious will start the burnings again. Nobody who is atheist wants to see the religious start the inquisition again. Most of us are not really trying to kill religions, just back them down a bit. If you religious types spoke out against your extremists instead of supporting them we would be a bit more comfortable. When YOU have people on TV saying WE should be executed, well, it makes us nervous.

by the way, how can your God be my God since my God does not exist. Are you disavowing your religion? The Song of Solomon is one of the few great bible passages, A love song, it rocks, read it with your wife, after the kids are asleep, or at their grandma's house.
God did not write the Bible. men did, and until you get that you will never understand the bible. Most of the atheists have read the bible very thoroughly because it is what the religious right wing freaks will use to justify killing us. You tend to pay attention to threats against your life.
But you can relax because we are not threatening your lives, not like you threaten ours.

No. The point is your god isn't real..so it can't be ours as well. It doesn't exist. How can you seriously not get that?

Give your life to science and stop trying to ruin the world. It's not fair what you are trying to do, dragging everyone down in ignorance like yourself.

i was fine with your opinions until this comment: "...our God (who is yours aswell remember), move on and talk about something that you believe in, or alternatively, give your life to Jesus. It is not fair what you are trying to do." but the utter superiority & self-righteousness in that statement made me want to spit.

YOUR GOD IS NOT MY GOD. a thing has to exist before it can be slandered. **stating my beliefs IS something i believe in,** and it is not FAIR that you condescend people in this manner. you have NO RESPECT for other's beliefs, therefore you will GET no respect.

maybe they aren't picking arguments, but trying to get people to see their way of thinking in comparison to the christian way of thinking. as for god tweaking scripture--wasn't he supposed to have written your beloved bible? so i would guess that he would not need to "tweak" it, since he was the one in charge of what went into it in the first place, right? lastly, your god is most certainly not my god as well, as it is presumptuous of you to say that he is. and you wonder why some non-believers dislike christians so much!

Don't say you have knowledge, you only have a blind-belief system. Knowledge comes from facts, something you can only get through science, not from faith.

Nobody can "cause" anything to happen that isn't going to happen when it takes TWO to tango. I don't argue. I list facts and logic as I see them... you can believe or not and reap the consequences.

It's not an argument when one side speaks the absolute truth and the other doesn't.
