I rescued a 1year old husky on Wednesday. I am having some issues with his bathroom habits. He is very good about going outside to pee but will not go number 2 on the leash at all. I took him to my mothers yesterday she has a large fenced in area and let him run. As soon as i cut him off the leash he took a poo. But when hes home on the leash he wont and he goes in the house. What should I do, I cant let him off leash in my yard??????

If you walk around in your yard a bit he may not go for fact of not wanting to go in common areas. My dog used to be the same way and I had to take her to areas there was no foot traffic through. If this is not the problem, get to know his deficating habits, most dogs generally go around the same time each day. When you have established his routine, take him out around that time and stand in the area you want him to go. Don't let him sniff anything or play around while he is out there until he goes. If he lays down make him stand up walk him in a circle if you need to but do not take him in until he goes. If he hasn't gone in 30 minutes (I know it's a long time) take him in and keep his leash on (for quick access) and keep an eye on him. If he starts to act like he is going to poo inside take him right back out. when he does poo, praise him.
