Jews asked our prophet Mohamed, may the blessing & peace of Allah be upon him,: Who comes to you with revelation..?!
Mohamed answered: it's Gabriel.
Jews said: it's our enemy,he's the one who comes with torture..if he isn't,we shall believe with you..
For that, Jews hate him !!
And for that, Allah (the one & only god who deserve to worship) revealed:
Say (Mohamed): "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel, for indeed he has brought it (this Quran) down to your heart by Allah's Permission, confirming what came before it (the undistorted Torah and Gospel) and guidance and glad tidings for the believers"
"Whoever is an enemy to Allah, His Angels, His Messengers, Gabriel and Michael, then verily, Allah is an enemy to the unbelievers."

Christians hate the "gabriel" who appeared to muhammad also. We believe it was a lying spirit (and not really Gabriel) since what it revealed to muhammad doesn't pass the test of 1 John 4:1-3:

1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

If you actually ask a Jew or Christian they will tell you they don't hate Gabriel. The question they will ask is "Does this Gabriel you speak of follow the Torah, Bible or the beginning of the Quran?" If not then perhaps one should rethink the issue.

As an aside,(please understand I mean no disrespect by this comment it's just a thought) the Torah, Old Testament and beginning of the Koran are one and the same. If you are told to hate the first two then why love the third. Seems just a bit paradoxical.

That's strange... Jews don't hate Gabriel or Michael. Michael, in the Jewish tradition, is Israel's heavenly defence lawyer, so-to-speak. Daniel got along perfectly fine with them, according to his book. Why would we hate angels?
