I don't get it. I heard that when someone dies, they don't leave. Like this one house had a ghost that refused to leave until a priest forced it out. How come they choose to stay someplace and terrorize people instead of moving on? And I'm not talking about devils and demons sent from Satan.

There is a lot of answers and some are unknown. But some ghost are basically stuck sorta speak, due to of negative type life, and perhaps that's why they scare people. They are afraid of the light to heaven, because it's positive, they need help being guided to the light.
Some are like a replay, that energy plays over and over again.
Usually when someone first dies, they don't realize that they're dead at first, then some do move on... my Grandfather came back first day. My Grandmothers dog coco, walked around dead, before we realized that the dogs body was underneath the stairs.
Once they move on, they can always come back due to tuning in to the spiritual world, or prayers. Once they reach heaven, they are called spirits.

Ghosts, dead people do not hang around,You said it took a priest to be rid of it,it was Demonic.Priests do not believe in ghosts.

Because they don't want to accept that they have died. They want to keep living here on Earth with the rest of us because they think it's so great here. Little do they know what they are missing out on. Some of them stay to terrrorize to make sure no one else moves into their house because it's their territory. Silly ghosts!

ghosts arent spirit , they arent a consious energy
they are whats called a residual energy
that is just like a memory that replays
and people who get scared etc can feed this energy that it remains longer
when someone blesses a house etc it takes away our fear and leaves us with a more possitive energy to fill the house with
all spirits go home , why would they stay here

Sometimes, ghosts like to stay at home, because it's what is most familiar to them. Also, maybe they are afraid of leaving their family members behind and want to stay to protect them.

According to Buddhist teachings... grasping and attachments to loved ones, this life etc. make it HARD for a mind soaked in such thinking to move on... just natural, unless you've learned how to calm your mind and not be so... "attached" to the point of an inability to let go.

when people die they rest in the grave till Judgement. people who see Ghost are seeing evil spirits.

well i dont believe in ghosts but maybe they have loved ones that they don't want to leave or maybe they were murdered and want to seek revenge!
