My vet just had me put my cat on soft food with low-ash because he was having bladder infections. (It the water in the food helps that problem I guess). But now, my cat is having very loose stools. Will he ever get used to the new diet?

Eventually, they will harden up, but due to the amount of water in the prescription food, they will always tend to be a little looser than usual.

To help this problem, you can (along with the food) give your cat treats that are high in fiber. This could counteract the wet food causing an even balance!

My cat has had chronic urinary infections and has now been on Hills Prescription Diet Feline C/D. It is a dry food (not soft) that helps with the formation of the struvite crystals that cause bladder infections and stones. She has been much better since changing to this food. Ask your vet if you could try this food instead of the soft food.

Yes... at any rate, even if his poop remains sighty runny, its much better than UTI and bladder issues.
