Cats differ on how much they kick litter. Some just shift it around and some act like they are undergoing a major construction project in there.
For these cats, they make litter boxes with tall sides. They also have litter boxes with covers but some cats have issues with confinement.
A small handheld vacuum cleaner of the dustbuster type is useful too, with these kind of cats. Keep it by the litter box and suck up anything that escapes.

Cats just do that. My cat does it but after my family getting mad at her and banishing her to the balcony she stopped. If this doesn't work then put her litter box in an enclosed space or buy the ones that are closed off everywhere but the little hole the cat goes in.

All cats do it. They're digging, and it just happens to fall out of the box. You can get a litter box with higher sides, or one with a closed lid on top. They sell them at Wal-Mart or any pet stores. Shouldn't be that expensive, but it will keep you from going insane.

my cat did that really bad in my small townhome...so the fix was to get one of those kitty doors that people put for their bedroom or front doors...and get the litter box type that has a lid on it...and put that flip door on the entry they have for that litter box...either glue it, tape it or screw it...make sure your cat understand how it works...and whalaa, no more litter all over the place.
ps...make sure you clean the box often enough to not make walking in there a real displeasure for your cat, cause one time i went too long, and the cat took its displeasure out on the floor right next to my bed...

all cats do this... they scratch the litter back over where they have just used the bathroom. try to get the kind of litterbox with the tents on them... it tends to keep the litter in the box more

Hahhahahah. My cat does that too. I don't think they do it on purpose. I think they just want to bury it. A good solution(Like I do): Put newspaper under it.Hope that helps:D
