I need to take cupcakes into class tomorrow for last period and I was thinging of putting whipped cream on them, so I went and bought 2 cans of whipped cream. Once I got home, I realized that it said it would melt on the back if it is not eaten immediately. Is this true? If it is, should I put heavy cream frosting on them?

yes its true, whipped cream will last about an hour before it melts back into a milk & sugar gooey mess. Use cool whip if you like the idea of whipped cream instead of greasy icing...It's less sugar too...Won't get the kids all hyped up on sugar.

The canned whipped cream starts melting almost immediately after spraying. Freshly whipped cream will last alot longer, for a day maybe 2 if kept in the fridge and wont melt. There are alot of tiny air bubbles in the canned cream and as they burst the cream collapses. Frosting's nice too though :0)

Take the whipped cream with you and put it on before the cupcakes are eaten. If that is not possible then i wouldnt definately put frosting on the cupcakes because that will not melt as quickly as the whipped cream and it is more durable. To answer if it is true or not YES,whipped cream will just slide right off the cupcake.

How about bringing the cans of whipped cream with you, and putting it on your cupcakes a while before serving them. That is if you have a way to keep it refrigerated. Or even put them in a cooler with ice.

Well if you are bringing them to class or school, then use frosting...whip cream will not work. though i prefer whip cream over frosting.
