Wear a hat, try using little clippys in your hair and pull up the part you can so you will have the illusion of long hair pulled up.

Curl it if it's straight, straighten it if it's curly.

Nothing grows shorter than a bad hair cut.
This happened to me over a year ago, and now my hair has grown 6-8 inches, and I found a hairdresser that listens.

I tell them that My MINIUMN requirement is that it needs to be long enough so i can pull it back in a pony.

I also say 2-4 inches, and have them show me what they think 2 or 4 inches is!!!! to me 2 inches is 2 knuckles lengths on my finger.

You can always get hair extensions until it grew out.
Don't be like me, and hide for 3 -4 months until it grew out!
Sheesh-- if knew the hairdresser was gonna butcher me I would have had him cut 10 and donated to locks of love.

I fired him!
I interview, get consultations from hairdresser NOW prior to their cutting my hair. I also take photos of the way I like myself with my old hair cuts.

I know it sounds crazy, but we do think of our hair as part of our idenity. I do a before and after cut, and keep it in a folder with the dates. That way, when and if i ever decide to cut my hair off again, I will have that vivid reminder of why not to!

You can go back to the stylilst, and tell them you are having a difficult time getting used to your new look, and ask for some tips on how to curl, or options to wear you hair.

A hat, clips, hair pieces, funk it up, try some gels, and be creative, it'll grow.

If it's really bumming you out, get some extensions!

I have several suggestions honey (all of which are things I've tried myself- models change their hair far too much and change it fast!)
-Extensions. Don't go for permanent extensions as this could put strain on thin or oily hair. I would say good quality clip ins made from yaki hair (Japanese synthetic) or real human hair are best. you can buy them in wefts from all good beauty shops, or ebay is excellent for finding something. You can also be adventurous with colour as well to contrast your own hair, or just blend in.
-Wigs are BAD NEWS. If you style your hair to go underneath a wig, it could ruin your own hair.
-Straightening with ceramic straighteners, and blowing dry with a round brush and a thin nozzle downwards from the root will always help. Add some serum and good to go!
-Accessorise. If your hair is chin length, tucking one seid behind an ear and securing with a pretty grip or slide will help ^_^
-If your hair isn't suitable for extensions at the back (i.e. too short), add some length to the front!
-if you have a fringe, clip it back. Tamed fringes (not feathered fringes) make hair appear shorter, so try for a lighter fringe, or sweeping it out the way.
-Wear it up! If cute bunches, or a very scraggy loose ponytail are very chic and casual! Ponytails instantly make hair look longer.
-Hair falls are ingenious!
-Smooth it so it's not flicked out or in and has no kinks. Straight hair is longer hair!
-If it's short and flicks in top you face, have it cut so it stays away from your face. Shorter hair that falls in the face looks shorter than if it's feathered away from the face.
-Don't wear alice bands, or comb your hair so it sits very far back on the head as this takes length out of the front.

Hope this helps honey!! ^_^

You didn't say it is a bad haircut so i will assume it isn't. Go back to the salon and tell them how you feel. I own a salon and if any of my staff or myself cut someones hair too short then i would be happier if they came back and told me than i would be if they just stayed away. I'm not suggesting that you let them cut it but ask them for a few ideas on how to style it while YOU WAIT FOR IT TO GROW. Sorry but thats the best thing to do. I know this sounds like crap but play about with it and try to get on with it while it grows. Do go back for advice.

Straightening will only make you hair longer by half a cm, if your looking for a quick fix try hair extensions which cost expensive, for a long natural longway rub olive oil on your hair tips to moisturize it making it healthier and look for a gơod shampoo and conditioner to help achieve that. Good luck

You could get some extensions that are just a little longer than your hair. You could put some spiral curls in it and finger comb them and your hair will look longer. You could just wait until your hair grow back. You could wash your hair and blow dry it out.

I usually just put some extensions in that works the best.

Short hair always looks longer tied up. if ya can. It will grow! By the time it does you'll be after realising you liked it short! Honest! It happens to me every time! I'd bet it's not too short at all it's just the shock! Give it a few days of styling in your normal manner and you'll grow to love it!

Straighten it. It looks like you have brown hair, and I suggest having a light brown on the tips..it will bring the eyes down, which should result in making your hair look longer.

flipping it up on the ends will sometimes make it appear longer and like you just decided to flip it up..also using a straightening iron and styling it flat in a very straight look will also

Oh I feel your pain....

Within a week you will most likely have gotten used to it.
Do go back to the salon ASAP and let the manager know this is not what you wanted. They should give you a refund.

Tie it up for a few days. Nobody will notice its shorter than it should be once you wear it down.
