No, not all people hyperventilate. Some gasp and choke - I am as gasper / choaker. People hyperventilate because they have no air. The air sacs in the lungs trap air coming in during an attack and fill the lungs with "used" air that cannot be expelled by exhaling. Consequently, the body panics and breaths rapid shallow breath to stay alive. Some people go pale almost immediatly (in my experience) because they have smaller lungs. Other people have larger airways and the exertion of trying to breath and the stress causes flushing of the face. We all eventually go blue or pale though. Hope this helps!

I am an asthmatic and some attacks can be scary, I have often been taken to hospital with attacks. I have a Nebulizer, Ventolin Inhaler,Steroids and an Easy breath
Inhaler. I remember a very clever Doctor told me to put on soothing music buy a tub of children's bubbles lay down on the floor and start blowing an slow as possible.
I found this exercise helped me to control my breathing and the more you do it the better you feel. I usually do it
when my chest feels tight. Good Luck Hope This Helps.

I feel your pain. I've had asthma for 14 years now and have seen several doctors. The truth is, there is no known cure for asthma at the moment. But the symptoms can be prevented. It really depends on what causes your brother's asthma. Mine is usually dust and hot weather. But I think the universal method is using the control inhaler.
I cured my Asthma the natural way?

I'm Asthmatic...when i have an attack..I just CAN'T breath...I'm sure I get pale and in the worse case...blue (lack of oxygen)...never heard of a "bright red"...but hyperventilate..yea..sorta cause you CAN'T BREATH...there fore you are breathing harder and trying to get air in...your upper chest, upper back and rib area gets distressed...because you are trying to breath and can't get air enough to compensate your lungs...it is very scarey and life threatening.....don't hesitate to call an emergency vehicle etc. if you think you or someone else is having an attack..YOU CAN DIE...

no. my little brother has athsma and when he has an attack he rarely hyperventilates, infact, he wouldn't be able to because sometimes he can barely breath at all. as far as changing colors goes, i think it just depends on the person.
