I like this guy who i don`t know that well but he`ll have a laugh and a joke when i see him in his work,my friend thinks he likes me and he said i`m nice,whatever that means.She`s asked him if he`s gonna take me out for a drink and i`d be in tomorrow,the problem is i have virtually no confidence left and feel horrid to be honest after my ex of 6 years left me,i`m getting over him and do like this guy but i think he`s to nice looking to be interested in me and maybe he`s just having a laugh,i`m also shy and he is too to a certain extent i suppose,if he asked me for a drink i`d love to say yes but don`t think i would,advice really appreciated,thanx,x

I knowit`s only a drink but what if i actualy liked him and he didn`t like me then i`d have to see him knowing this.

Yep, go for it - i knw its prob hard for you if u have a shy nature - but being shy is attractive, and u think he is shy too, if he is, he may find it really hard to ask you out, so if he does u cant turn him down.
Go out with him and just see how the cookie crumbles, dont let your x ruin your chances of being happy in the future * good luk,

Why don't YOU ask him out? I know its terrible to be shy but why wait, a lot of guys can find it hard to talk to women let alone ask them out & he maybe more impressed that you made the first move especially if he knows how hurt you've been from your last relationship. Why go for a drink, why not just have lunch, if you don't enjoy the date its easer to make your excuses and leave, if you do get on then arrange another date. Just be natural, and give it a go.... but what would I know I'm only a man.

okay, let's see, you're both shy and confused. but you like this guy and maybe he likes you, too. your ex is gone and probably moved on, why can't you? this is your chance to break away from the miserable person you've become after your ex...
if you're going to wait for him to ask you out, that may take too long. besides what difference would it make if you were the one to ask him out for a drink? have confidence, girl. it's just a drink. but this is a chance for you to get to know the guy. get comfortable with him at least this one time. and maybe you both wouldnt feel shy around each other. who knows? this guy might help you get over your ex.

I get a resounding yes on this one. You are smart and very self-aware and will know not only how to conduct yourself but you will also know how to gauge him almost at once. This will be good for you to connect for however brief a moment with someone else and help you to put the unpleasantness with your other situation a little bit further behind you. It may very well help you to begin believing in the human race once again. Trust your feelings and enjoy your drink together and make your mind up later when you are soaking leisurely in your hot spa (bath tub) at home, dreaming of warmer weather and trying to believe that men are not all monsters.

I know its hard but the sooner you know the answer to your question, of whether he likes you or not, the better. when you are shy its very hard and you feel you don't want to make a fool of yourself so why don't you give him your number and if he calls then you know you are on the right track or ask him to have coffee with you. don't worry about a man being too good looking because I am no oil painting but I have a great sense of humour and personality and caring and kind and seem to attact very good looking men every time!! my husband is younger than me and is very good looking man. just be yourself and ask him out for a drink or coffee and see what happens. good luck!!
