We have no say about the affairs of the US government, because we basically don't exist. I mean Native Americans had everything taken from us and I am 100% Navajo and I know this from the way society portrays us. We basically had our history and lively hood erased and were forced to conform or die, many chose the latter because smallpox and tuberculosis and the "long walk" killed many of our ancestors. In a way we got everything taken from us, and don't even count the medical or "casinos", Navajos don't have ANY casinos and we are a sovereign nation with our own laws so the US government doesn't let our people have running water or power and even telephones on the reservation, so we are a third world country here in the USofA, oh yeah, we have elected officals but they're corrupted by greed and lies so they are of no use to the true "Navajos", and "we" could still vote for state officals and governors but they don't go to the reservation much ONLY during election time....."the government doesn't care about Native Americans!"

The United States is a representative democracy....in other words, the people elect legislators to do that for us.

The Native American reservations are semi-autonomous areas by treaty. But no group or sub-group has any special standing to vote in the Congress.

We are a republic, also many Native American tribes claim sovereignty, claim to have their own laws and constitutions. This is why they can have casinos, which is prohibited in other areas of the United States. It's kind of one of those odd things, for instance they can ignore some of the United States laws but can still qualify for food stamps.
