There's no risk of salmanella (spelling?!), is there?

With raw eggs, there's always a small risk of salmonella. Don't eat the dough just to be on the safe side. Sorry! (I love to eat it too though!)

I don't know the answer. I bought a package of Pillsbury cookie dough. Even though the ingredients said "pasteurized eggs", it still had a warning, saying not to eat the dough raw. (I still ate it raw).

Salmonella affects children and the elderly the worst. Since I'm neither, I'll probably continue to eat raw cookie dough, as long as it was made with pasteurized eggs. But since there's such a big deal made about salmonella, I think I'll stay away from the doughs that don't use pasteurized eggs.

Yes. The danger in eating raw cookie dough is Salmonella from eggs. Pasteurization kills of Salmonella if it is present.

The pasteurization process does indeed kill the salmonella.

It is perfectly safe to eat the dough if you use pasteurized eggs. I'm assuming the people who say it isn't safe didn't notice the word "pasteurize."

there IS a risk but as long as you don't see blood in the egg when you crack it open you should be okay. most people know of the risk but they eat it anyway, it's pretty good though i won't recommend eating it all the time.
