Or do you prefer to listen to idiots like AL GORE instead of real scientists.

FYI: science by consensus is NOT SCIENCE!

If you recognize that if you packed the entire population of the planet at a density level similar to Los Angeles we would all fit into New Jersey, you'd realize how stupid it is to believe we can have a significant impact on the global atmosphere.

no its not a myth, thats why when u have a greenhouse the greenhouse effect takes place. make pretend the earth is a greenhouse, the gases are conserved in the earths atmosphere whch keeps a normal range of temperature within earth and some gases are radiated back into space. its well known fact and our planet wouldnt survive without it. we need those greenhouse gases, but too many can be harmful, like C02 and the burning of fossil fuels have to be kept limited
and for your information the person to identify the greenhuse effect was joseph fourier a well known and famous scientist, al gore an every human has the right to preach another persons discoveries if they are well-facted

The green house effect is definitely real. The issue is what factor mankind plays in it. We have always had climate changes on earth. I live in the Southwest and I can see mountains from my window now that were caused by glaciers. We also used to be an ocean and my home is now at 5000' in elevation. You don't have to like Al Gore to dispute mankind's effect on the environment. The earth is warming. It has warmed and cooled for millions of years. The question you should have asked is whether the climate change is natural or man made. That's the controversy. Your link is false.

I'd would rather belive the Green house effect. Not because of Al Gore but because of reading about it in books. Earth does have a greenhouse effect because of all the clouds and the atmosphere reflect the heat back to the Earth. Why do you think Venus is hotter than Mercury when it is farther away? Think about it.

I am a conservative, but I believe in the greenhouse effect. The article you have linked is in fact false. There is no scientific evidence to suggest that the sun has changed at all in the past several million years. Yes, there are explosions and reactions on the sun once in a while, but those are contained, far from earth, and have no long term effects, certainly not climate change. Embrace global warming as a conservative issue too. Don't let the Democrats use it to divide Republicans.

you must not read the news too often. it is no myth. why do you feel a need to object to this? it's fact. intelligent people all understand it is fact. i just don't understand why people feel a need to deny the obvious.

EDIT >>> ok i read your link. friend, they're promoting a TV show. couple of wack scientists are going to express their bizarre theories. now i understand. i was thinking maybe you work for mobil/exxon or something.

look at it this way. the earth and it's atmosphere is a closed system, somewhat similar to a small room. you're just layin back watchin the tube. time passes and the room begins to fill, friends over to watch the game. before long the room is full of smoking, belching, and farting people. the temperature rises and the air gets rank. and god help you all if some of those people insist on starting up gas burning engines and running them all day. i can just see you over in the corner telling al gore he's full of siht. no al, it's got nothing to do with the conditions here in this room. it's my upstairs neighbor. she's making tea on the hotplate agin, cough, cough. nothing to do with the forty people in the 90 sq foot room. cough. nothing to do with the gas burning engines runnin' all day. it's that hotplate i tell ya. cough. somebody please, open up a window.

we have no windows.

Greenhouse effect is fact. What is NOT fact is the assumption that man is the cause of it. It is part of a huge cycle of heating and cooling that has created ice ages roughly every 1500 yrs. The gelogical records prove that. It also proves that the cycle started long before man came upon the face of the planet. Over the history of the planet the one constant condition in the atmosphere is constant change. All the hot air produced by Al Gore and those who agree with him will only hasten this change.

Of course it is real; without the greenhouse effect Earth would be a frozen inhospitable waste land a la Mars, and with too much of it, the planet would be even hotter than Mercury a la Venus.

Greenhouse effect is real. A lot of people just like to deny the truth and maybe a lot of people just dont like al gore. well like him or not, its real. and if you just turn off your lights, use less electricity, you save yourself money and your helping the planet. easy as that
