Excuse me I'm a "liberal" so I don't understand war - hate war, but it seems strange that conservative people can support war, put "Support Our Troops" banners on their cars, & then when their troops come back home they treat them badly. Like the Walter Reed Hospital thing - and now they are saying other veteran hospitals have same problems. These men and women who were injured in Iraq & Afghanistan cannot get medical treatment without filling out 20 pages of paperwork and have to CERTIFY, i.e. prove their leg was blown off there. I don't understand that. I would think they would treat these people like heroes for what they've done. I mean even I appreciate the sacrafices they made even if I don't agree with who and what sent them to war. They went and fought for their country. They should be treated like royalty when they come back here. Or at least they should have full, easy access to medical care, housing and food. But I'm just a pinko liberal maybe I'm wrong

Soldiers by all military organizations have always been considered to be expendable. So why would that perception be any different when they come back injured and no longer of any value to the military effort? And what makes anybody think that the reason they went over there was anymore benevolent than the treatment they are receiving once they get back?

You are correct they should be treated like the heros that they are. Clinton spent 8 years cutting military budgets and closing basses. This a horible problem that has been getting worse. The liberals dont want to support the military and the Republicans aren't spending the money that they are getting wisely. Social medicine does not work and military medicine is a mirror to that truth. These men and women should all be in the best hospitals available. Dollars to donuts that Vice President Cheyne did not wait in a mildewing room with mice and fill out paper work for 3 hours today.

They are treated that way because many people including you could not care less about them. They are just the current news story being used to slam a Republican president. VA hospitals & veteran pay have been horrible for decades. Congress spends time fighting over a piece of paper that says we do not like the president or his stand on the war. It would mean absolutely nothing but an embarrassment to the President. Maybe they should talk Veteran rights instead & not more hearings that nothing wll come out of. These hearings happen every 4-6 yrs & the Military is still in need of supplies & the Veterans are still ignored. Both Republicans & Democrats, both Congress & the voters have allowed this treatment to continue. One word describes it "SHAME".

Because this administration does not support the troops. Why else would it send them off into a war without armor, a stated goal and an exit strategy? Once a soldier is injured, he no longer has any value to Halliburton. So it is no surprise that the administration doesn't care to rehabilitate the injured.

There is an odd psychological phenomenon that at first does not seem logical, but really is. When people should feel gratitude, they often feel resentment instead, because there is no way the person can appreciably thank another person's sacrifice.

For example, it has been shown that people who go overboard in an office, doing way more work than they are required, end up getting resentment from those around them, not gratitude. They are treated badly, and sometimes even shunned.

Im a conservative, and I beleive what your saying is true to an extent. Our Troops arent treated like they should be from the start, not just when they come back. Its not like the governments abandoning them or anything, but it could be improved.

Liberals hate our military.
You know that.
If you are really a pinko, you should move to North Korea. The government is all pinko there.
Remember several months ago when Liberals bragged about spitting on the Disabled Vet at one of the ralleys.

If you think they are treated badly now, you should have been around during Viet Nam. Your Liberal buddies actually spit on returning troops after "Hanoi" Jane had committed treason in North Viet nam

I believe people look down on solders because; society looks at the military as a social status, a lower social status.
