I liked the kind that you actually brush on; however since I have blonde hair the best highlighting was when I went to the salon and they dyed my hair a light brown...then highlighted. It cost more but boy did I get a lot of compliments!!

Good Luck!

Hair is tricky-I use the same dye all the time and it always comes out a little different-go figure!!

Highlights cost a lot in salons and there is a good reason for it. It is not easy. I would suggest forgetting about doing them yourself but if you are adamant then please get a friend to help you because you will most probably make a mess and if so it wont be easy for a salon to put right. Even so i still highly recommend you go to a salon. Get some free advice from one or two good salons and then maybe shop around for a cheaper one and see if what they suggest was anything like what the others did.
Good luck.
