Yes, it most likely is connected to your smoking. Cigarette smoke irritates the linings of the mouth and throat, pulling moisture out of them; this accounts for the sore throats and dry lips. No doubt your chest even feels a bit "heavy" because of the irritation created along the lingings of the lungs. Smoke long enough, and you'll either find these symptoms reduced or simply get used to them and accept them as normal. But why get used to it? Nothing good will ever come from smoking, and each time you light up puts you more at risk of becoming truely addicted--and beleive me when I tell you that quiting's one tough cookie. Do yourself a favor and turn 'em down while you're still able to. While I know that I sound preachy, I'm actually BEGGING you not to go down this road: Smoking is the single most destructive habit you could possibly have, and turning yourself around after becoming addicted is one of the toughest obstacles you'll ever face (nicotine has been estimated by the FDA to be roughly 10 times more addictive than heroin). Be good to yourself! You're better than a rolled up paper tube full of burning leaves.

Could be. Knowing people who want to quit after years of smoking, my advise is to quit before addiction sets in. It's a very expensive and harmful habit. Take care.

If you have not gotten addicted then why are you smoking? Don't worry soon you will be coughing up yellow stuff. love the new comercial you don't always die from tabacco sometimes you just loose a lung, or they cut out your tongue. or you might get stuck with a big hole in your neck!!!!!
