Very interesting you say this. In Chinese, China means the center of all nations. Their economy is growing along with their population. It could happen. Maybe within the next 50 years or so.

Is China going to rule the world?. I don't think so. No single country had ever ruled the world througout the earth's entire history. Not even the United States for that matter.
But if you paraphrase your question and ask, will China become more powerful than the United States in the times to come?. Then the answer is yes, and the trend of all the events as they are happening now are showing indications towards that direction. China's economy continues on a trend of steady growth. As part of this growth, China's military will so too. The United States economy on the other hand is hampered by its enormous war spendings that will continue to mount everyday. The ever growing U.S. budget deficit shows this.
While it is true that the United States is still ahead of China in both economic and military aspects at the present, this may not be true anymore in the long term, let's say 10, 20, or 30 years from now.

No. First China's economy is not even close to ours. It's GDP is $2.512 trillion (2006 est.), While ours is $13.22 trillion (2006 est.). Their growth rate is about 8%, ours is about 4%. Now if you think about it, their economy is growing about 8% larger each year off of $2.5 trillion, while we are growing about 4% larger each year off of $13.2 trillion. My point being that China is not the giant the media is making it out to be.
Now for part two. I'm sure you've heard that the U.S. uses more energy than any other country, right. Cool, well with China's current trends if their economy reached our levels China's energy levels would dwarf ours. The problem with this is, the energy production on earth isn't even close to the levels that would be needed to support that. Not too mention that we're both growing year after year.
Third to the absurdity of your question, no one country will rule the world. It has never happened and will never happen. The closest that ever came was Great Britain and the Roman empire, and neither of them are incredibly frightening at the moment. America's economy dwarfs all others, the number of doctorate degrees and master degrees dwarfs all others, our military power dwarfs all others. And we couldn't take over the world if we tried, so there is no possible way China will take over the world.

I really can't belive the response that you've gotten. I guess Americans are worried.
The answer as far as I can see it is no. Not because they don't deserve to rule the world.(they outnumber everyone else) or will have the power to do it. But instead, They will never rule me. An individual who loves his family more than his country is undefeatable. . Let the world "leaders" talk their bull. I'm still the former Marine with a rifle. And there are thousands more like me.

They already do economically.
The drop in the American stock markets last week was due to China readjusting their market. Scary huh?
Most of what you wear, tools you use, packaged food come from China, as well as all the doodads people purchase.
We, The US makes very little. Put the blame on the elected officials and the people who elected them.

No. 20 years ago you could have said the same thing about Russia and the same reason stands. We have the ability to erase china several times over and they know it. They could, of course, do the same thing to us, but I like to believe that is a moot point because we wouldn't ever try to take china over.

I'm pretty sure that if they don't wipe the United States off the map, they won't ever rule the world.

The U.S. is too proud too live with that. We would launch off all our missiles just before we lost. Sad but true.
