Bush doesn't run the gvt by his Christian ways. He basis his value system and is influenced by them. There is no specific Christian way to run the gvt. Some christians believe in a more liberal approach to gvt because they think being christian means that the gvt should provide for all people. Other christians think that the gvt should stay out of helping people and that we should be helping each other privately because self reliance is a very important quality and service should be from the heart and not forced by the gvt.

Bush is no more running the gvt via his religion anymore then any other president in the past has. We are all influenced by our value system. This gvt is not a straight democracy but a representative republic. We don't vote on every issue. We elect people that we feel will represent enough of what we feel is right. Maybe your issue should be with the over half of the population that never bothers voting in elections.

People knew about Bush's "christian ways" before he was elected. He was elected because a majority of people wanted a president with "christian ways". That is what democracy is all about.

I thought Bush governs with the authority of the US Congress.
Bush cannot declare war without Congress' approval and members of Congress are elected by the people. So it would seem the people of the USA wanted war.
Let's stay with the facts here.

Hardly, the majority of people in this country want a swift end to this war with victory, are personally against abortion (though they are tolerable of others who choose it), are Christian and want to have freedom of expression regarding their religion (like setting the ten commandments on one's desk).

All these things and more Bush has done little to achieve.

I noticed that he won the election back in 2004. The people voted for him. I think a lot of them feel stupid about that now - but they voted for him - so he must be what the people want - Christian ways and all.

And just for the record - most of the people in the U.S. consider themselves to be Christians.
