I have already asked a question like this before, but I didn't really get what I wanted. If there are any current or past military pharmacists who can go into detail, it would be greatly appreciated. What I really want to know is a specific type of projected career path (if you look on careersinthemilitary.com there is something like that but just not for pharmacy). Also, what are the largest pharmacies (by branch), and where is it that you are most likely assigned to. Thanks for all who answer and don't be afraid to write down a lot, I want to get as much input as I can get.

you are asking in the wrong place. you need to go to the Branch you are interested in and do your research there on their websites.

Nobody here can tell you here about size and chances of getting stationed. Needs of the military always supercede your own desires.

Are you wanting information on Officer positions, or enlisted positions? Many Pharmacy employees are civilians in base hospitals.

I have a pharmacy degree, joined the army as an MP.
I don't want to sound like a greedy man, but if your a pharmacist, I would stay in the civilian world and make some money and a good career there. I just got tired of being a pharmacist, i like my job now, but from what i was told before i enlisted was that you have a possibility to go anywhere there is a base. You can request, i believe, up to 3 places, but even than you are at the mercy of needs of the army. As for career development, you can increase ranks, captain, major and so forth, than probably move up in the hospitals to director of pharmacy and the like. Good luck.

Only thing I know is that you are "most likely to be assigned" anywhere....

They have pharmacies at every base/post/camp/station etc. You can go anywhere they want/need you. Even here!
