i don't know if this follows what you are looking for, but my favorite piece of art is what I call Happiness in Tahoe!! I took a picture and showed it to a friend (boy who at the time liked me) and he actually painted it for me and then gave it to me for Valentines day! I love it because it not only shows me how much he cared about me, but I remember being with my mom when it was taken!
I think the best kind of art is the kind that reminds you of something or someone that you love.

Hello! I like this question. My favorite piece of art is by the Impressionist Renoir called "Washer Women" with it's luminescent and vibrant colors which I got to see up close and personal. I'm partial to Impressionism, so I like paintings by Renoir (of course), Monet, Cezzane, etc. I also like Rodin's sculpture called "Crying Lion", a smaller piece that's interesting. I've come to like VanGough with his thick brush strokes, and as for other modern artists I like Dale Chihuly a whole lot, a favorite statue in Philly I like a lot is called the Signer (you can view it here: http://www.ushistory.org/tour/tour_signer.htm), and I like the art of nature's creation by God! So much to see and enjoy!

Picasso's Guernica. It's not a piece I would want to have hanging in my house, but I always get a strong visceral reaction whenever I see it.
