Last year it seemed to take longer for me then everyones else even though I sent mine in on Jan and they did it last second. How long does it normaly take to get the refund back?

If it is early, it should only take four weeks, after that six, but if you really want to find out go to irs.gov hit "where is my refund" and then hit it again enter your info and the gov will tell you exactly when they are going to send it out. You can also call 1-800-829-1040 enter the info from your phone key pad and they will also tell you the mail date. Next year you might want to try e-filling. I can have my taxes in my account in 10 days. I have done this for the last five years and have never had any trouble. I love it and the irs.gov site also tells me when it will be deposited.

Since you MAILED your return, it automatically takes longer than if you e-filed. Normally a mailed return with a mailed refund takes 4 to 6 weeks. This year congress passed several tax law changes at the last minute. The IRS has experienced difficulties updating their systems causing delays.

BTW, the last second is not for another 5 or 6 weeks.

what pinky said, except this year i believe it's changed due to something. they said it would take longer than expected to get a return.
