Where did you get the idea that atheists always go to the religious section? You know where everyone goes? This is a public forum and anyone can go to any section they choose and express an opinion. Plenty of people do not play baseball, but they still like to watch a game or ask a question about it. If on the other hand, you do not like to read question or answers from people who do not practice a religion, you have the option of going to a site set up expressly for the religious.

Actually, as an atheist, I just scan ALL open questions.
Many of the questions asked in the Religion section are directed AT atheists.
It is usually something rather condescending and I,for one,
am sometimes baited into answering. Though I know that someone who has been brainwashed by religion, does not ask the question looking for an answer, only trying to validate their own beliefs.
BTW, the word atheist, literally means, absence of religion.

A number of points come to mind:

First, the name of the section is "Religion and Spirtuality." There are a number of spiritual traditions that do not necessarily believe in a deity.

Second, this is a public forum to which all are welcome.

Third, you, like many who ask about atheists, somehow can't manage to use the plural form of the noun. This usage happens entirely to frequently to be a chance occurence, and I suspect it has something to do with the way you think of atheists. Do you imagine them as being like the "Borg," all units of the same vast monolithic mind?

Fourth, the word atheist is derived from the Greek word "theos," which means "God." Note that the "e" comes directly after the "h." The "i" comes after the "e."

Fifth, "There" means "in that place." I suspect you were aiming at "they're," which is a contraction of "they are."

Sixth, "goes," not "gos."

Seventh: Language is the material with which we think. Please use it carefully.

Everybody is welcome to come to this forum and this section. Everybody has something to say when it comes to the subject of religion. Why is it that Christians go to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and lesbian section if you guys are gay or lesbian or bisexual or transgendered? We can turn things around on you guys as well. They shouldn't but they do go to that section and other places to preach the gospels.

it's religion & spirituality, and why WOULDN'T atheists come here?
i am very spiritual, i do not believe in a personified diety, so therefore am atheist. buddhism is a religion, but it doesn't have a god. atheism = not believing in a god. it CAN be part of a religion, but it isn't a religion in ITSELF.
try learning a bit; you can even get that much from wikipedia for the luv of pete!

i dont go to the science section because i'm not talking about science.

We find the discussion of religion stimulating. It's a very rich field of learning, and a grand curiosity of psychology.

The real question is why do religious people not want to hear from the other side of the fence? Can faith not endure criticism? And why oh why is this question asked at least 5 times daily?

"Why are there such truly some Athiest on the religion section?" this question receives requested many cases an afternoon. it truly is truly extremely elementary. those who favor to talk about music flow to the music section. those who favor to talk about activities flow to the activities section. those who favor to talk about Cats flow to the Cats section. those who favor to talk about faith flow to the religion section. "in case you you dont have a religon, why are you usually talking about it and critizing it." Why does no longer having a faith advise you won't be able to talk about faith? do you are able to be chinese to be interested in chinese historic previous? more suitable to the point, do you are able to be a Muslim to be interested in getting to understand about Islam? perhaps you imagine the answer is "sure" besides the undeniable fact that it truly is no longer. there are a range of non-Muslims who're scholars of Islam. so some distance as criticizing it, i do not attempt this. I criticize tries of religion to flow outside its barriers, alongside with replacing the technology curriculum of colleges. "Why cant athiest and christians only coexist in peace and team spirit, to each and each their own." obviously they can. yet another established question the following is even if atheists and Christians could have a useful marriage, and the answer is resoundingly sure. All you want is mutual recognize.

I would never question the beliefs of a religious person whom is a moderate - I might not agree with them, or secretly think that they are misguided - but I would never openly question their sacred beliefs.

However, thus site is not the home of moderates - but the bashing ground of polarized radicals, and its open season for us Atheist's.

We get so much rubbish from the radicals when we don't want it, its nice to come here with the real hard liners and hone up our answers to their dribble.

If Beliefs were a coin, and one side was "religion"...the other side would be "no religion" (atheism). We have two sides, R and not R. Where religion is, not religion will be there as well, and has every right to be, if we want it to be an unbiased system.
