I would say -- pretty much --- yes
there are only a couple of types of people that fall into this category called "public figures"
That being -- public officials and celebrities
In both cases -- the public has a FULL right to know -- at least WHO these people ARE--- and how else does THAT happen unless the contents of their personal life is at least SOMEWHAT opened to reveal the real THEM behind the IMAGE !!!
One might wonder about Celebrities in all of this--- because one would say--- I understand the need for people to know about what kind of person we're getting in a position of governmental power and / or representation--- but WHAT is the need to know such stuff about a celebrity---- well, it is of at least some interest to at least a strong number of people to know if they are supporting someone that has extreme beliefs or life styles that THEY don't care to be supporting with their hard earned dollar !!!

Don't get me wrong here though--- I'm not talking about a public right of INTRUSION into these people's lives --- And, I am all for their rights to the privacy laws of this country !! I , also believe that entities like poparazzi and other intrusive groups should be called to task for intrusions that THEY are involved in -- in matters of violations of those rights !!

No because for most celebs people pay them money for a service(actors, musicians, politicians). Once that service has been performed then that's it. Buying a ticket to a movie isn't a license to be with that person 24/7. I'm not as famous as Tom Cruise. But in my work I've had psycho stalkers and understand how serious that is. The other aspect of it is it goes with the job up to a point. Tom Cruise has security like Bush does in the White House. But does he ***** about loss of privacy? No, because he's a smart businessman. If he did ***** his fans would instantly say, then why are you an actor? Why am I wasting my hard earned cash to see you? You can't have it both ways.

When you are in the public eye your life in it's full spectrum is also in the public eye!!! If you want it private then it has to stay behind closed doors without windows!!! lol The unfortunate thing is most people anymore in the public eye do the most STUPID of things and cry like a baby when it is found out!!! I say, if you are not willing to have something go public then you know it to be wrong and should be adult about it and not do it at all!!! That my dear is life!!! If you're unwilling to live your life in the spot light then change your career!!!

Mudslinging is as previous as politics. the two sides have traditionally finished it at relating to an analogous value. Karl Rove perfected precision, mudslinging with all signs and indicators of mercy deleted. on the grounds that then, the Republicans have had slightly bit an facet. the two sides will use regardless of they are in a position to apply against an opponent. in case you think in any different case, you're naive.

No, I don't think we have the right... but it happens, it gets plastered everywhere and I'm not gonna look away. I buy the mags, I look at the tv shows and enterainment websites.

I don't see a stop happening to it anytime soon. I don't know what could be done to keep their personal lives from being shared with the world.
