Watching the fighting on tv, we noticed that when the fighters are ready to go into the ring, they check behind the ears, down the torso etc, what are they looking for?

the groin is to check for a groin protecter that the MMa requries the mouth is for the mouth piece and some tournments check behind the ear and torso thats for earrings etc. and the torso is make sure you dont oil up before a match make it hard for oppents to grab you

They don't want you to be covered in grease or oil.

They make sure that you have mouth protection and groin protection and that you don't have any illegal objects on your person.
