There is hard data available in many places which refutes those claims. Volcanoes make just a few percent as much greenhouse gas as man, and the dust they emit cancels even that out. One site, I'm sure there are others:

http://www.geology.sdsu.edu/how_volcanoes_work/climate_effects.html

And changes in solar radiation are less than 10% of the manmade changes:

Do people think professional climatologists would not consider obvious natural factors? Or that this stuff isn't routinely measured, by a large number of scientists?

The idea that 99% of the climatologists in the world are wrong, neglect obvious natural causes as possibilities, fake the data to get money, or are engaged in a massive environmentalist conspiracy, seems silly to me.

So what´s the rest... oh wait... the 90% REMAINING ARE FROM US

People say those things because there is a lot of uncertainty and difference of opinions. A lot of statistics being quoted as fact are really estimates. And a lot of "hard" data isn't very hard.

For example, who knows how much of what gasses are being spewed by volcanoes? Most of the volcanoes are under the sea and very few are monitored. Anybody can publish a number but that doesn't make it true.

There are some pretty smart scientists that find a correlation between the sun's output and temperatures on Earth and Mars. Anybody can publish an article and say it ain't so but that don't make it true.

The idea that 99% of the climatologists in the world agree that humans are warming the earth is simply a lie.

Because it absolves mankind from responsibility. However, when there is a volcanic eruption, the effect is significant. It is only that these occur rarely (every few years) when greenhouse gas concentration rises each year, even when volcanic activity is very low.
Solar changes, called flux, happens on a twelve year cycle, approximately. These changes are repeating cycles, going from high to low to high ...
Both volcanism and flux are examples of natural causes of climate change. So, people can point to them as examples of how, since they are natural, man cannot be causing any climate change.
Of course it is silly to think SCIENCE is conspiring against the dogmatic, true-believers. It is not true when religion makes these claims, nor is it true when politics makes these claims.
What is even more silly is that much of the research grants come from the government. If there were to be a conspiracy, it would be to the advantage of the government, to keep those funds coming.
Science encourages peer-review. Nothing is considered without evidence and without confirmation. Scientist would love to punch new holes in accepted theories, not reinforce the existing ones.

Global Warming is a trojan horse for Socialism, wake up Americans. Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leaders use it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. This issue is 99% political, and an attempt to make the USA a socialist nation, and eventually communisim. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES

Most people that refute climate change do so because to admit reality will "crimp their style". You do not have to be 'liberal' or 'conservative' to honestly interpret statistical data, you just need to be hnest with yourself; the upward trend in fossil fuel use corresponds with the upward trend in average global temperature. While this could be ENTIRELY coincidental, the intelligent thing to do is to reduce emissions and watch what happens VERY carefully.

If you have a big tumor-shaped lump on your skin one morning, maybe it's just a bug-bite, but only an idiot would not work on the assumption that it MIGHT be cancer, so a visit to the doctor would be smart...

I watch allot of National Geographic and your right Nature occurrences are not to blame in reality its man who is. I used to live in Alaska and I meet allot of people who go down to Antarctica(the South Pole) to help scientist's get around using a dog team. I learned allot from them and so should more people.

right on .this is my version to sway wishfull dreamers

i send this message to unbelievers

how i envey the bliss of ignorence enjoyed by so many ,
but for how long can one have his head in the sand ,before noticing that your a**s is on fire

politicians and scientists who work for politicians have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many people income, and most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.

is not a invented story to control humanity like religion is

to all the people that are dead already its very real

Is global warming a man-made menace?

not all there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants that ensure living conditions for all life forms

in Mexico right now thousands of people lost their homes and many are dead because of floods caused by Global warming

in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification

in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days

in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)

,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.

collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,

as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss

each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,

and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use
