People get over it.. I am not an Iwer fan. I used to argue with my friend saying that Iwer just changing words and singing the same thing over and over. His argument was that Iwer moves the people at parties and we really want to hear "Raise yeh hand" over and over. I disagreed to the fullest.

So this year I went to Soca in Moka. Sherwayne was horrible, Destra was beging people to whine and move this way. Listen when I pay money to see you perform I don't want any new music and I didn't come to do an arobics class.

Iwer was not on the bill but came out for 15 minutes and rock the place.

So the competition is not about who has the best songs but how the crowd responded. Again I am not a big fan but Iwer all the way.

Here's what if I had to choose... I would have given it to Shurwayne again because Kees kinda outshined Nadia in their performance.
But honestly... if you think about what the judges might have used... it could probably be crowd response.
Unlike the other artistes with the tons of props and the taking off lights for grand intros... when Iwer was introduced... he took the mic walked on stage and start to sing... and from the front of the stage straight to the stands the crowd just mash up!!!
You should have seen it.
VIP...V VIP..stage side...frontstage... backstage...
the whole dam place...
people just had a good time and they weren't caught up in the props or whatever... it wa just about me and the music.
Take Shurwayne for example... he had a good performance but I had to look at what he was dooing so much that I didn't enjoy the song for my own self

Initially, i said he should not have won however, i have changed my position and believes the deserves to win. Soca monarch points are mainly based on crowd response and he did capture that very successfully. It does not matter who writes a song and as regards lyrics, I've heard worse in competitions.

i not even going to lie I love Fete After Fete, ever other year I love one of Iwer's stupid songs...but the little I saw of Nadia Batson's performance, I think she was robbed. That girl could really sing!
