Drinking too many / too fast, can kill. I am a nurse and have witnessed death through this practice. It may seem like fun and a bit of a laugh at the time , too take up a challenge or make a point of going out to get yourself as drunk as possible in the shortest time, but it can have tragic consequences. Never " spike " someones drink either for a bit of a laugh, you may be taking them way beyond their tolerance level. Alcohol poisoning quickly affects the bodily functions that sustain life. As a depressant, alcohol slows breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. If blood alcohol levels rise sharply in a short time, the areas of the brain that control these functions can be sedated--literally put to sleep. When that happens, people lose consciousness and can die. People who poison themselves with alcohol can also die from aspirating, or choking, on their own vomit. Don't mean to be a party pooper :0) , just pointing out the dangers. I love to party, and enjoy a few glasses of wine, but know its time to call it quits when i take over the mic at the karaoke ( which i would never have the nerve / inclination to do without the alcohol). and start doing my one woman Shani Twain, tribute show. I drink rarely ( much to the relief of my husband, family and friends , not forgetting the punters down our local ). My remedy is too lie in bed all day, next day, muttering " I'm dying " and trying, unsuccessfully, to eek a tad of sympathy out of my husband.

Johnny Walker (blue label) never fails to knock me out. I'm not a heavy drinker and stuff, but around 10 shots of it really does it for me.
I usually end up asleep when i'm quite drunk. By the time wake up, if my head is still spinning and all, i drink about 2 or 3 glasses of COCONUT JUICE. You should try it. After about half an hour or so, you'll just be amazed at how fast you sober up.

As far as getting drunk fast goes... the more alcohol in the least amount of time is what usually does the trick. However, in my experience it depends a lot on the mood you are in, what you have ate previously in the day, the type of alcohol, and knowing your own limits.
Mood: Often times when you go out with the intetntion of getting drunk it happens quicker, however if you go out with other issues weighing on your mind or plans for the next morning often times your tolerance may be higher or you may not desire to drink after a couple, or in the case of my friend makes you cry and walk home (never a good thing)
Food: The less you have ate during the day the faster drunkness creeps up on you, be careful about drinking on an empty stomach it usually equals a lot of trouble
Alcohols: In my case I have a high tolerance for whisky, tequila gets me drunk quick and if I have any bicardi or southern comfort in my system at all and I am sick as a dog, so just knowing my reactions to the different types and my limits really helps me out
Also, there are rumors that mixing alcohols "liquor before beer, you're in the clear" makes you get drunk faster, it usually works out as gets you SICK FASTER and also makes for an awful hangover
Which brings us to hangovers, we instituted a rule years back known as "The goldfish, two glass rule"! Which stands for eating some of those goldfish crackers and drinking at least two glasses of water! However, you don't have to eat goldfish any starchy, grain based food works to soak up the alcohol. Also if curing your hangover is intended for an event the next morning I have found waking up about two or three hours prior to "actually waking up" popping some IB profen, drinking some more water and sometimes taking a shower, then going back to bed until actual wake up time also helps tremendously. It gives the pain reliever time to kick in before getting ready and heading out.
As far as great tasting strong drinks I would recomend the "grateful dead" which is a long island ice tea with chambord instead of soda. Or the "Three wisemen shots". A safe bet for quick drunkness can also be found in a "Jager Bomb", mixing energy drinks always does the trick!
Also, as far as masking the smell of alcohol at the time of the drunkness there are rumors of sucking on a penny, which i have never tried so I can't validate as good or not, however, a CHP buddy of mine recommended eating peanuts!

Anything with a high proof, like bacardi 151, or Wild Turkey 101, mixed with something with carbonation. The carbonation carries the alcohol into your blood faster. That is the reason for the old school slammer shots: Mix tequila, or anything you like with a splash of carbonated beverage, strain into shot glass and slam down on the bar (with the shot glass covered by your hand or a coaster. Then shoot it. That'll be the end.

Jager-Bombs do the trick pretty quickly... you'll start to feel the effects of the energy drink right off the bat
Unfortunately, the only remedy that can truly sober you up is time.

A good dry white wine. I used to be a heavy Jack Daniels drinker, but since i've decided I dont want a black liver (just a nicely coloured damaged one all the same), I've found that my soberity has increased and it doesnt take too much to get me drunk.
My sobering up technique. Typically english, but its straight to bed when you get in after drinking a good lot of water. Then in the morning, black tea with honey and lemon, trashy, girlie magazines and feet up watching Oprah, or Jerry, or Jeremy.

Bacardi 151 will do the deed fastest, Absinth and Everclear will do it faster but aren't legal in many areas.
As far as getting sober water, food, and exercise will all kill your buzz faster than anything else.
Coffee will just make you a very awake drunk.

Drink lots and lots of Jaegermeister to get drunk quickly.
To get sober again, eat some pretzels or something and drink coffee or Red Bull.

I'm guessing if your asking what will get you drunk fastest, your probably not an experienced drinker. But Absinthe will get you drunk faster than anything, but if you drink it straight you'll just vomit.
