When he was about to join the USS Oriskany, a fire killed 44 sailors. When he joined the USS Forrestal, a fire took 132 lives. When he flew over Vietnam he was shot down. Jeez, it looks like it's dangerous to be around this guy. It used to be the Kennedys who attracted disaster.

all of what you're talking about happened 40 years ago. Now he is just plagued by a mouth that he should keep shut. The maverick reputation is only because of his mouth in the senate. Name anything that he has done lately that's memorable.

Men of valor who serve their country are going to be involved in high risk situations, unlike you & I who are fairly safe sitting here posting & answering simple minded questions.

BTW , not to be a smart aleck, but 134 men perished in the USS Forrestal fire. I know that for a fact as I served for a year aboard CV 59
