He hasn't had his shots yet, he's 6 1/2 months old..I know they will not fix him if he hasn't had his shots yet, so my question is. If we take him in this weekend can they give him his shots and fix him all at once? or will we have to get his shots and then wait a week or something, then bring him back to get him fixed?

thanks for the answers guys...
he is strictly an indoor cat, so hopefully i can get him fixed before having the shots. i guess i could be wrong, but it's my best guess that he is spraying. I lay a blanket down in front of my door at night so he won't tear up the carpet and found this morning a part of the blanket was discolored, stiff, and smelly. I sniffed it and the smell was like stuck in my nose, i assume he sprayed it. I do have two cats and they each have their own 'spots' they like to sleep in. I guess one cat got fed up with the other and marked his territory..anyways..thanks again!

My vet didn't require him to have his shots before I get my cat fixed. Maybe yours won't either. I haven't actually gotten my cat fixed yet but i have made the appointment with the vet. they know he hasn't got his shots but it was fine. Is you cat and indoors or and outdoors? OUtdoors cats are of course more exposed to the elements and getting shots first would be the best option for everyone involved. P.S. when did your cat start spraying?

I've worked at a vet clinic before, and it really depends on the vet. For the cats sake, it would be best to get its shots and then come back in about a week for neutering. Some animals don't react well to vaccines and to put them under anesthesia the same day could be dangerous.

It depends on the vet office but expect to have shots first then go back for the surgery. Spraying has many causes...but in the end the longer is goes on the more it becomes a habit.

I guess you know he should have had all his shots by 4 months of age...right? That would include a rabies shot, 2 distemper shots, and 2 leukemia shots. They can do them when he gets neutered. He is old enough for that surgery now.

Hi sis,
Good luck getting an appointment for either one of them right now. Its March and every cat in our neighborhood is screaming....PICK ME_PICK ME !! lol all the parents are begging the vet to take them NOW!!!
Your vet can give kitty-rat -cat both at once...won't hurt him a bit. But if its the money............ask for the nutering, then the shots thats what I did.

i dont see why not. with my cat they declawed him, and neutered him all the same day. they had to keep him over night though. so i dont see why they cant give the shots and de-balling him all the same day. and once you get him fixed, the spraying will stop, cuz he wont feel the need to mark his territory.
good luck! {to the cat lol}

Yes: a kitten I rescued was given his rabies shot on the day he was neutered. And yes, they do this routinely. Its just the rabies shots they want to make sure your cat has.

u should b able to have it all done at the same time. I had my cat spayed, declawed and shots all at the same time.
And he will continue to spray until he is fixed and he is old enough to b fixed
