That would create a huge vacuum in most societies. I'd rather have people go to church than go insane from idleness.

Yeah, why does a religion want another religion terminated? I assume its because they believe they are correct.

Most people just want a level playing field, no special privilege for any religion, certainly not state sponsored religion.

A truly Secular state with government & religion strictly separated is the best way for people of different religions and no religion to get along side by side without conflict. If you are religious or if you are not you should all support secularism.

Because Religion has nothing to do with being Spiritual. According to my dictionary, the meanings are:

Religion: 1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usu. involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code for the conduct of human affairs.

Spiritual: 1. pertaining to the spirit or soul, as distinguished from the physical nature.

People have a right to religion. And the people who aggressively attack religion and promote their ideas, are actually (by definition) practicing religion! It's a loop-hole.

Mhmm .. would you rather die (or have loved ones die) from a war caused by religion or live happily without a war ?

Most wars stem from religion or even religious intolerance can be the cause of friction between two opposing groups of people.

Many people would say that society has given religion a pretty good trial period, and it just isn't really working.

I'd rather have people not practicing religion than blowing themselves up in the name of their deity.
