Money isn't evil. It's only a "weapon with two edges"; use your money in good causes, and gain it (And spend it) wisely, and it's good. Screw up, and use it stupidly on worthless and evil causes and it's evil!

An old saying is "The love for money is the root of all evil." It is not true. Evil comes in many forms.
Who thinks money is a necessary evil? I do not. Money is a medium of exchange. Without it we would have to use a barter system of some sort to effect the exchange of goods and services.

It is not Money that is the root of all evil it is the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil. It is a necessary evil because we have to have it to live in this world.

Religion aside, money was the invention that helped us break away from the farm and build cities. Barter is OK in a town where you know everybody, but as the size of the population grows, you need some form of token to pay for goods, when you do a service that is not directly connected with the production of the food and fuel you require to survive.

So money is a necessary item, but because greed is the major facet of human kind, money will always be our downfall, so it is the root of all evil. It fund war, drives people to commit crimes, act in terrible ways and basically drop their standards.

Some money is necessary in order to eat, have a place to live, have clothing, furniture, etc. When it becomes evil, is when both parents in a two-parent home work full-time--and their children know their sitters or daycare workers better than their own parents.

The parents are missing out on important 'firsts' in their children's lives as well. These people do not both need to work full time outside the home--they could just stop wanting every materialistic thing that comes along--and get by with the basics. Family always should come first.

Making money your god.

1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Money is not the root of all evil...the desire to bend others to your will (or another will) is the root of all evil. Money is just a means to an end.

Why do you believe that I believe that money is the root of all evil?

It isn't.

There is no such thing as a "root of all evil". You could as well blame stupidity, or intolerance, or small-mindedness the root of all evil.

Evil has many roots (and many branches).

I don't believe money is the root of all evil. Most people misinterpret this statement, which has biblical derivatives. The actual saying is "Greed is the root of all evil..." Is it? I think so. Glimpse through history & you we see that most of the heinous acts of humanity were commited with greed as a motivation.

The meaning of love of money is being selfish, it means that you concentrate on material possessions, that you are living only for your self and every thing evolves around you.
So if you are selfish, you should be indifferent to others and to their needs.
Also it means that you will not have enough of anything because you see that it is your right to have more.

Also that you will do whatever that it takes to satisfy your hunger for more, and whatever it goes with that selfish attitude.

Yes, from that roots out all evil, thank you.
