I am thinking that the microwave energy could be used to flatten and reshape the eye, correcting nearsightedness(myopia) without any inscisions to the eye. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

RESULTS: The 3-mm simulated keratometry reading showed an average of 6.60 ± 6.00 D (standard deviation) of flattening. The region of opacity associated with shrinkage extended to 62% (±26%) of the corneal thickness. The epithelium was intact in all eyes.

So apparently it is possible, doubt in the next 10 years though, looks like alot of complications are associated with the technique... Maybe 25 years or so if further advancements are not made...

Myopia is a result of the lens focusing incoming light short of the retina. There are now laser surgery techniques now that can reshape the lens to change its focal point to the retina. microwave energy is worse than useless to ophthalmology.
