General anesthesia. The pain after, depends on how hard it was for them to get the teeth out. Are they impacted or through the gums? About 3-5 days and the worst is over.

Ask for "general" anesthesia, also known as "IV sedation" and "twilight anesthesia". Basically means you're sedated through an IV needle for the entire procedure. It is NOT scary at all. It starts to work in about 10 seconds, and you feel like you're about to take the best and most wonderful nap of your life! Then you wake up and it's over, and you swear it only took 5 minutes! You will wake up in ZERO pain. The surgeon will give you a prescription for narcotics, just in case you need it, but many people are fine using Tylenol or Advil. I just had my top two wisdom teeth out about 4 hours ago, and I feel great. A little achey and tired, but very good. No real "pain" at all. Just keep taking Advil around the clock to ward off any pain that might sneak up on you. Good luck!

Anestasia? Didn't she win American Idol or something? It's anesthesia. You'll most likely be given a general anesthesia, which is defined as follows:

General anesthesia is the induction of a state of unconsciousness with the absence of pain sensation over the entire body, through the administration of anesthetic drugs. It is used during certain medical and surgical procedures.

Sorry for being a smart a*s.

It really depends on how well you handle pain. I had all 4 of mine cut out with a local anesthetic. If you don't deal with pain well you might consider being put under. I felt pain for a few days after, but nothing major and a good oral surgeon should give you pain killers.

I had all four of mine out when I was 16. I had general anesthetic and it was done in the hospital. They were all impacted - growing forward instead of up/down. Make sure you get some good pain killers and plan to have bruising for a few weeks. Lots of soft/liquid food. Hope you have a speedy recovery!
