Try saying that to someone with clinical depression and see how far you get.
There's a certain amount of trouble and misfortune in any life -- that's just how life is. And a mentally healthy adult can usually cope with whatever comes their way: maybe not very well at first, but eventually they'll pull themselves out of the pit of bad feeling that life sometimes causes.
People with clinical depression are crippled by a biochemical hit to the very mental structures that make people want to keep going in the first place. Asking a person with depression to "take the right footstep" is like asking someone with two broken legs to get up and run a marathon. It's not going to happen, and it's not their fault.
People who are seriously depressed will sometimes lash out in their pain. It's not fair, but it does happen. I wish I had a quick fix for that kind of situation, but there IS no quick fix. Clinical depression usually only responds to medication and/or therapy, and given the stigma that mental illness carries in our society, people are sometimes afraid to seek out help.
The problem is when people who are NOT clinically depressed go around saying things like "Oooh, my life is horrible! I'm going to cut and/or kill myself!" -- and don't mean it. They trivialize the hell that a seriously depressed person goes through every day.
Sorry for the rant... but sometimes, for some people, life does indeed suck horribly and hard, and they don't have the internal resources to cope with it on their own. I just pray that every person in that situation is lucky enough to find someone with the patience and the compassion to give and/or find them the help they need so desperately.

That's what she said!
haha, life doesn't suck, it's a big happy place full of rainbows and unicorns and stuff.
I don't know, maybe life sucks and people are bitter because there are thousands of people dying of starvation while people are wasting film taking pictures of Paris Hilton pouring a $40 bottle of bling water for her dog.
But hey, I'm not saying that I personally think my life sucks, I think that life sucks for a lot of people though, and you should realize that your lifestyle is WAYYYYYYYYY better than a lot of people, whose lives probably suck, and if they're killing your high on life, maybe you should try to oh, i don't know, improve their quality of life, or commit random acts of kindess for them.
I think we should all keep in mind that by simply being online, you are doing something that over 75% of the population of earth don't even have basic access to.

These are the people who see the glass as half-empty, rather than half-full. Life is a mixture of struggles and moments of contentment & joy. But I feel a large amount of whether or not we are happy with life, depends on our *attitude* rather than Actual good or bad things happening.
I also feel that even adults go through phases when they feel like life sucks, but they are adult enough to not dwell on it. They try to be optimistic, so they don't go into a downward spiral. They try to be mature about it.

Hi Phoenix,
It seems to be a typical teen thing--thinking that life sux. Teens are constantly bored, and are going through growth and hormone changes.
It happens in older people, too, but that is usually a sign of clinical depression--which does need to be treated with medication and/or therapy.

It's all just a state of mind. Like the saying goes Ignorance is Bliss.
an Atheist can be just as happy as a Christian. You just have to realize there's more to life than just religion.

because life does suck. Look around, look how many people don't care about others, about life, about anything but themselves. Life is not fair, you gotta look out for yourself and get around others that will be good ppl, that will make life better. If someone else doesn't like it, oh well, their loss.
