Ok, I'm 14 years old, and I know that there have probably been a MILLION questions on Yahoo! Answers about acne and pimples but I wanted to know what I need to do to clear my face of acne. I know that I don't have a bad condition of acne, only around my nose and occasionally forehead, but every time it starts to clear up, I get more acne! My skin is somewhat sensitive, but not very sensitive. I wash my face twice a day with a mild bar of soap, occasionally use rubbing alcohol to dry up the oily area around my skin, eat healthy, and drink lots of water. My skin is kind of oily, but not very oily. How can I stop acne from happening? My mom said she would buy me whatever products I wanted, but do they work? Has anyone tried Proactiv, and does it work? What about KlearAction? Also, does the Clean and Clear Invisible Blemish treatment work? What are some home remedies? If you know anything about skincare or acne removal, PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thank You!!!

use sylic acid 2% try clearisil cleansing pads twice a day.
Clean and clear non pore colggin formula facial moisturizer.
try and find clearisil instant clean. it looks like chapstick and is silver, carry it in your pocket and put it on problem spots as often as you [should] be using your chapstick...which is like every hour. =] it should signifigantly help, try changing your pillow daily...and sleeping with socks on your hands! =]

I've been hearing alot about Proactive. Maybe that product will help you. Also, if your skin is oily, you should buy an acne face wash. Wash your face at least twice a day. Dont use rubbing alcohol use Witch Hazel which you can get in the drugstore as it is not as irritating and drying to the skin. Also buy Calomine Lotion used for poison ivy, as comments I read from other people that it is great. What you do is you put it all over your acne spots at bedtime. It acts as a drying compound and it really works. One girl wrote that she had used so many products and nothing worked until she started using the Calomine Lotion. She said within a week, her acne cleared up. So try it. Also do not use any irritating products on your skin, even if it is for acne, because it will inflame it more. Also, my suggestion is that you really should see a dermatologist. The doctor may be able to give you something by prescription to clear up the acne right away, or maybe he will prescribe tetracycline which is an anti biotic for acne. So there is help for you.

The only problem I see there is that you wash your skin with "a mild bar of soap"? Soap is for your body, so you may want to get something special for your face. And rubbing alcohol is a pretty harsh stuff, so you may want to stop that practice. I started proactive a few weeks ago, and I'm still waiting for fantastic results... but it's been pretty nice so far; I have dry skin so I only use it every other day so I don't look like a walking flake of skin. Benzoil peroxide is good for spot treatments. That's half the battle if you are already eating right and guzzling water, so keep that up. Don't give up! Try combinations of lotions and washes, and make sure not to pick your face, that just makes it worse.

When I was around 14 I used proactiv and it worked great, it would clear my face up very nicely, but now I'm 16 and get acne worse now and my skin is alot more oiler now than it was when I was 14, when I was 14 I didnt get too many pimples now I do, I'll use proactiv once in a while now but the reason is is now it doesnt work for me, it dries my skin up horrible now, so there you go for that. Also, I'll get a cleanser and cleanse my face, you might also want to try dailyritual cleanser, I've heard good things about it. Also, try getting some water and salt mixed in and cleaning your face with that. If the proactiv wont dry your skin out, then defiantly get it.

Proactive never worked for me. I do this:
1) Change pillowcasesevery 3 days
2) Wash with La Rouche Posay gel cleanser every AM & PM
3) Use Bio Medic Conditioning solution AM/PM
4) Sunscreen AM
5) moisturizer AM/PM
6) Dr brandt microdermabrasion every few days & cleared my acne up within 2 weeks!

I've tried proactive, but unfortunately it didnt work for me. i do think it would work for you though because you have a little bit of acne, where as i had a lot.
i've tried sooo many products and have even tried perscriptives, which usually worked the best. a few months ago i went to my dermatologist and im using retinae-micro along with a bezoyl cream right now, and its working really good.
So I would advise you to use pro active and try it out, but if it doesn't work then you should go see a dermatologist. Hope it clears up soon!

I am 13, and I have mild acne too, just on my nose and forehead, like you. I mentioned it to my doctor and she asked me if i wanted a perscription for it. So she gave me Benzaclin (it's a cream), and it works great. I only have to put it on once a day, and it actually works. Just make sure you sleep on a white or an old pillowcase, because it may leave white splotches.

no, proactiv will not work because it is only for people with severe acne and their are a million other skin diseases that are exactly like it. for home remidies i suggest putting your face over a bowl of steam to open your pores. if you are willing to buy something, i suggest Cetaphyll twice a day(its cheap) and toner (clinque is what i use). Good Luck!

When it comes to zits and finding the acne cure it can be quite a difficult task. Discovering a home cure for acne could be just what you need to get clear skin once again

I use this stuff called AcneFree. It's just like proactiv, but half the cost. You can get it at Costco. It worked wonders for me, but it takes about 3 weeks for it to really start working.
