I don't think that you are going to need a physical exam. Back in the day some states required blood tests and exams but not anymore. You need to go to your local county/parish courthouse and apply for a marriage license. Most states require that you have to have this license for 72 hours before you get married but it also expires 30 days after it is issued. So I think that a reasonable time frame would be someday during the week of your wedding. I am getting married on a Saturday so i am going to go get mine probably on the Monday. But all states are different so just give the Clerk of Courts office a call or drop by and ask for their marriage department and they will tell you everything you will need to know. Also in most states your fiance doesn't even need to be with you. You will just need his birth certificate and social security card. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

May I ask if you are in Indiana?
You need to do all this in close proximity. I mean, you can't have the physical now & then get married a year later.
You need to find out from your County Clerk. They usually have a special form that your doctor has to fill out. That is just one of the things you will have to take with you to get your marriage license.
The clerk will tell you what else.Sometimes you need a witness for the license as well.
Most marriage licenses are good for 30-60 days, so plan accordingly. And some places have a 3 day wait to get the license, not including the weekend.

How long before the license expires? Call the county clerk to find out, along with asking how recent the physical has to be. If you can, get the physical out of the way & wait about 30 days or so before the wedding, most expire in about 60 days.

Check with the county clerk in the county you plan to get married in. Generally, that person will be able to tell you how long your marriage license is good for, and what the window for getting the physical exam before the license is.

Look up rules and regulations in your state. In CA, the marriage license is valid for 90 days, and there is no physical exam. Call the place you're going to be getting the license from, and they will fill you in.

My state no longer requires a physical.....call the courthouse in your city and they should be able to tell you the requirements in your state. When to apply also depends on your state. For me once you paid for and applied for your license it was only good for 30 days so my husband and I went together (because we both needed to sign papers and show identification including BC's) two weeks before the wedding.. hope that helps!

Contact your county recorder. Not all states require a physical. I live in CA and it took us 10 minutes to get our license and we had 90 days to use it. All states are different. You can google: "Your county" county recorder or "Your county" marriage license information. The county recorder is who will issue you the license, and keep it on record.

As far as I know, you are no longer required to have a physical exam. Go to your local town hall, or court house and get one.
