A man was found murdered on Sunday morning. His wife immediately called the police. The police questioned the wife and staff and got these alibis:
The Wife said she was sleeping.

The Maid was getting the mail.

It was the maid because the mail doesn't get delivered on Sunday's.

It's the maid. The mail is not delivered on Sundays. Her alibi only holds up if she had forgotten to get the mail the previous day, which would make her a crummy maid. Also, they must have had a really long driveway, otherwise getting the mail would only take a minute and a minute-long task is not a sufficient alibi.

Am I reading too much into this?

If the man was found murdered on Sunday MORNING, then either he was murdered really early Sunday or late Saturday night. No mail is delivered at either of these times, so it was clearly the maid.

Those who said the maid are making a very wrong assumtion. Perhaps no one got the mail Saturday and it was still in the box Sunday, not enough info to intelligently come up with a conclusion
