The pro reviewers rate the LZ5 as good to very good. It has a lot of nice features for under $200.
It's best to go to a camera store and see how it feels in your hands. (Weight, size, button placement, ease of viewfinder screen, etc.) There are a lot of cameras in this price range. Try some out in the store to see how you like them.
Although Kodak makes many easy to use cameras that lots of people like, they usually rate rate lower than the best Japanese brands (Canon, Sony, etc.). If you see a Kodak that you like, check it out on some of the pro review sites and see if they mention anything negative that is important to you. If not, the Kodak might be the best for you!
Good Luck

It is all opinion. Some people love Kodak. But the features do help rate cameras.
