Mk kitten is a Tabby Cat with Calico markings.

Lately she has been acting kinda weird.

Yesterday, I was petting her, (and by the way her name is Patches) very nicely, I rubbed her on the back. She jumped up from my bed and ran away. When she was small, she loved it! What's wrong with her. Is it just that she's growing up? She is spayed if that changes anything.

Does she hate me???

Will she keep doing this???
Is it just because she's growing up???
Or is it because she's having growing problums?

Oh yeah. She has a brother who lives with her. Could she have hurt herself while playing with him???***

I'm sure your cat doesn't hate you. You have had her awhile and believe me, if she hated you, you would have known that immediately, she would have peed on everything you own, that's how they show their dislike.

ok, you are saying you were rubbing her back and that she has been spayed. There is a very good chance that while you were petting her you got too close to the way back part of her back, just under the tail. This is the most sensitive part of a cat, it's actually over their sexual organs. Even when they have been fixed sometimes that area is very sensitive to the human touch and a lot of cats just Hate to be touched there. Then there are cats who roll around like they are going into heat, so you just never know until you touch them there. I have two cats presently. One loves to have that spot rubbed, the other takes off like she has been set on fire. Best advice, just keep away from the tail end and you should be fine with your cat. Pet the other end, they usually love it under the chin and around the ears, but even that is so individual to a cat. I have had cats who wouldn't let me near their ears and I had one cat who's ears literally turned red and all hot when i rubbed them and she would grab my hand to keep me doing it. Cats are Cats, they are weird, but we love them and the best thing to do is to find out what it is that makes them happy and do it for them. After all, they own us.

Why did this behavior seem like there was something wrong with the cat? Did she do something other than simply run away? Maybe she just wasn't in the mood for petting at that time. She could have been resting and you bothered her at the wrong time or maybe she was hoping that you would chase her - it is hard to tell without having been there, but just because she ran away when you pet her doesn't mean she is hurt or doesn't like you. Think - are you 100% open to a hug 100% of the time? Cats have moods too. Try petting her again at a later time and see what happens.

She might be hurt by another animal. I would try it again to see if she reacts the same or maybe you can take a closer look to see if your cat is hurt. Sometimes cats when they get older, they get grumpy and maybe she likes to be pet a little bit but after awhile the cat just wants to be left alone.

Has she done this more than once when you rub her on the back? If so, then maybe she is hurt. But, if shes done it only a couple of times, she probably heard a quite noise far away and was so curious that she just had to check it out. ^.^

I have had 2 cats in my life. They're just weird like that. I'll be petting them and they'll just bite me out of nowhere. They just have real weird and quick mood swings and attention spans, thats what I've learned from my experience.

She is growing up and developing her personality. All cats have distinct personalities. I have two and they are brother and sister. The boy is very loving and the girl is aloof.

I would check and see if she has a sore on her back or if she messed up her spine. Maybe she just saw something she wanted to play with. I wouldn't worry unless she keeps it up.

Maybe she has hurt herself? Maybe you hit a nerve? Likely doesn't hate you if she approached you to begin with.
