Does Anybody know how to work a dog whistle i can hear it but it says silent dog whistel on it?

The sound emitted by a dog whistle can't be heard by a human, but if you blow it near a dog, it will sure get their attention. You use it for training purposes. Don't just toot on it repeatedly around your pooch, it would be the same thing as a toddler repeatedly blowing a regular whistle without stopping...it'll drive ya crazy, and that's not a nice thing to do to an animal.

I wouldn't worry too much... You can hear it, but 99% of those around you won't be able to (unless they're a dog!)

Some people can hear low ultrasonic sounds... And that's the pitch that dog whistles give off. I personally can hear when bats fly overhead... It's a bit creepy, but I guess I just have good ears. You must have a good pair too!

You are going to hear the sound of air passing the whistle... It isn't totally silent. They are useless anyhow, you should use a clicker for training.

DP is correct.
As I stated in your other question. Use it for training purpose.
The noise you hear is not the actual pitch that it is making. Just the noise from you.
If used properly it can be an effective training tool.

your whistle is broken... the point is that it is so high pitched that the human ear can't hear it but the dogs can.

don't worry about it. your ears are more sensitive to higher pitch tones than most peoples. i'm the same way. those electronic things that emit a tone you'll probably be able to hear to.
