What you're describing is a sebacious cyst. The cyst CAN be lanced. This eases the pain, but usually only temporarily. These cysts are contained in a "capsule" or cyst wall, and unless the entire capsule is excised (cut out & removed) it may return.
Patients who come to us with inflamed cysts are put on antibiotics and then return when the inflamation has subsided and we excise the entire cyst at a later date.

It is a little different for everyone, but hot packs will make it come out faster. Once it really comes out in full force, it can still take awhile. You can always go to a doctor and have it lanced, or you could go now and get antibiotics. I had two of them. One time I went to the doctor early as I already had an appointment for something else and was prescribed antibiotics that caused it to go away very fast. The next time, I waited and ended up having it lanced. I have not had any since; I don't know what was going on with my health at that time.
