Alot of money my friend. Shop around taxi agencies if you're not in a hurry. Once i took a taxi from L.A. to Glendale (near the galleria) and it cost me 20+ bucks! Sure you say, so it was only 20 bucks, but i lived 6 miles away!! It would have been cheaper to take the bus, but i was late for work...Plus sometimes the cab driver will take the longer way there to run up the meter, as mine did. He took the streets as opposed to taking the freeway. So my guess is it'll cost you 80+ bucks to get to La Puente.

Why would you take a taxi for such a long and expensive ride when great low cost rail & bus services are available? Depending on where exactly you are starting and ending, several transit options exist. For one, possibility take OCTA route 43 Harbor Blvd from Costa Mesa to Harbor And Katella in Anaheim then take MTA route 460 to Norwalk station and from there Norwalk Transit route 1 goes to LA Puente. Another option, Take either OCTA Route 43 local or 213 (express rush hours only) from Costa Mesa to Brea Mall then MTA route 684 to Pomona/Cal Poly and then MTA route 484 to La Puente. With any option the fare would be less than $3 each way. Good luck!

Taxis are VERY expensive! I had to get to work once when my car wouldn't start and it cost me $10 bucks to go about 3 miles.

Look into taking the bus or even hoping on the MetroLink: http://www.metrolinktrains.com
