I have been packing to move and have been lifting and bending over a lot. I work out and stretch regularly, but my neck is really hurting today, even after stretching. Is there anything I can do NOW to make it go away? (please say yes!)

Use ice the first 24 hrs then heat. You can take any over the counter pain medicine but I recommend an anti-inflamatory like ibuprofen or naprosyn.

And a chiropractor doesn't go to school longer in the USA than a physician. Only go to a chiropractor if you can't get it under control within a couple days.

Yes it is possible! It should take 2-3 days for the pain to ease off but it will not go away completely for a while. Try rubbling 'Deep Heat' cream which isn't too expensive and you can get it from the local pharmacy. Also try lying on the couch with a hot water bottle under your neck ( with the cover on! )

If you think you might have pulled a muscle in your neck, my best advice to you would be to see your doctor as soon as possible. If you decide to wait to do something about your neck, your problem could get worse. It would be better to play it smart and get your neck problem diagnosed and treated right away.

Ice, See a chiroprator (just for the record they usually attend college longer they a regular dr does). Get a massage. That helps alot. I get sore necks and pulled muscles quite often and it helps alot!

Ibuprofen and heat. Probably a muscle issue. Chiro?????? Not for me. IMO they shouldn't even be allowed to call themselves doctor.
