One of the most important things you will pick up in school is how to tell what is important to your teacher. This teacher does not like remarks like that--this is good to know. And, the better you are able to tell what someone over you wants/expects/likes, the better you will do--no matter what job in what field you have. I'm not telling you to be an apple-polisher--just be aware of what is important to your teacher/boss/whatever.

Being a teacher myself..it is in a way disrespectful. You are stating that you feel the teacher is boring..outloud and in his presence. You have a right to feel what you want about the class, but by stating it outloud in the class, could have caused an incident where other classmates would respond in agreement, thus making it difficult for the teacher to continue the class. It is showing disrespect to your teacher, who tries to provide you with a good education. Not all classes you will take in high school or college will be fun and games. I guarantee you that you WILL endure classes/teachers/professors that you will not like and not enjoy. Part of life, you just have to "suck it up" and deal.

OMG Hahaha! I particularly have an INSANE language arts instructor, yet in a reliable way, she's only loopy and random. the first issue she did the first day we had her became come into the lecture room mumbling "The dang cleansing human beings took my moist wipes!" Lol reliable cases. She ROCKS.

I don't think I would call that disrespectful and I'm surprised he didn't just come back with some silly remark. Better watch yourself in this class but don't sweat it.

I guess it could be interpreted as rude, but I think the teacher overreacted. Try to be careful what you say to this teacher from now on.

It would be the same as if you were speaking to your friends and one of them turned to the others and said 'is she boring or what?' and the others agreed...How would you feel?

You shouldn't have said that so loudly that the teacher could hear it. Yes, you are rude.
