I like to eat very healthly, but lack a lot of time between working and exercise. My Husband and I tried an experiment recently. In the Asda frozen food section they have a row of "Healthy" meals. They were on offer and we bought enough for the week to see if it could save us some time. Great Healthy Options Right? After eating this for dinner for 2 days in a row we both had horrible wind, and a painful stomachache, I felt like I wanted to die! The kind of pain I get when I eat a hamburger from a take-a-way. It's probably because I eat healthy most of the time and my body isn't use to it. Where you just feel dirty. I'd love to believe that when a company puts "Healthy Eating'' on something, it actually is. But you really do need to read the lables. Anyone else that exercises reguarly and eats genuinally healthy meals ever have a take a way sometimes and feels sickly?

yes, one main thing is to read the sodium level on the "healthy foods",,,,, often you will be shocked,,,, at the sodium and preservatives,,,,,

what is better, healthier , and what i do,,,, is to have bread and peanut butter on hand, or even crackers (low salt) and a variety of cheeses,,, this can help you when you just want to grab something, yet want to not suffer,,,,,,

another thing i do, is to cook extra, when /everytime i cook, then freeze it,,, so if i bake chicken, i have some in the freezer, that in a few minutes can be put in a stir fry for quick meals

some people set aside a day a month, to either cook meats or meals, and pop them in the freezer, basically making their own frozen dinners,,,,

for take away, there isnt much out there, even subway which is diet friendly, is high sodium,,,,,, i didnt realize this till my mom, last year, who was already a diabetic,, developed heart problems,,,,,,, only a jr burger king whopper with unsalted fries, would even fit into her diet, as a treat

The only time I feel sickley is when
A: I've overindulged in something not 100% healthy for me (like a hamburger) or
B: ate something that gave me food poisoning (which sounds more like what may have happened to you. Hope your feeling better but for every-ones safety you may want to call the food manufacturer and put in a complaint so others don't get ill.
Take much care

I've been using Weightwatchers and have completely changed my eating habits (No sugar, junk food, coke etc)

I have tried a couple of times to indulge (pizza and falafel) and have been sick both times (No I wasn't drinking!)

There is a big debate at the moment as the food manufacturers and supermarkets have set up their own scheme for classifying food content, as opposed to the "Traffic Light" scheme launched by the Government.

It just goes to show that you have to keep your wits about you and that just because something is low in sugar, doesn't mean that it's healthy (i.e. could be high in salt)

Since I have been trying to eat healthy for the last few months I now can only eat a little bit of chocolate. Eating too much chocolate now makes me nauseous, which is sad because I really, really, love chocolate.

Yes and the first thing I do is check the label of the food to see if it contains MSG (used to keep things looking fresh). A round of MSG will send my gut into turmoil in an amazingly short amount of time. Biggest symptom is gas followed by loose stool.

yep -exercise 4-5 times a week and cook my food myself (instead of take aways/ ready meals). I don't own a microwave - so makes it easy to eat better and forces you to cook and enjoy cooking. I try and eat 5-10 portions of fruit and veg per day.

Two months ago i had fish and chip from the chippy and the fat nearly made me puke - strange i used to love Fish and chips?!

It would be interesting to know what the fat content and fiber content of the meal was. It could have been high fiber which IS healthy but can also cause lots of gas and a tummy ache to those who are not used to it.
