I have several types of textbooks (mostly science stuff) from college that I will never no longer use and have not used in several years. They are taking up space. I appreciate and love books and feel bad just tossing them away. I actually thought about putting them in a box and putting them next to the road. I have done that with several items such as toys, clothes, etc. and they were gone by the next morning. I dunno. Any Ideas?

maybe find one of those charities that helps give school supplies to 3rd world schools and you could give it to them. They might be a little advanced but I'm sure they don't get lots of stuff for older kids so it might be really good. I have some I need to get rid of too but they cost so much I couldn't bare to part with them.

Some libraries have a shop to sell donated books, CDs, DVDs, etc. to raise money for the library. Check to see if any of your local libraries do this.

Science books do not change radically, so you might be able to find a volunteer tutoring group that would like to have these books too or a charity that sends books to Third World countries.

www.craigslist.com is a good place to find out what people are seeking to post an add offering your books. (Post a special e-mail address or your cell phone number to protect your privacy & use caution. Most people are honest but it is better to be safe than sorry.)
