I don't think open scoring is good for boxing at all. First of all, it takes off some luster and thrill in the fight, and second, it will only get in the way of the fighters' strategies. If a fighter implements a certain strategy and finds himself below on points, then he will detract from his game plan. Now if a fighter finds out that he is leading by a large margin, he will do nothing but run.
Open scoring will not allow the pace of a fight naturally. You might say that the fighters are giving the fans some entertainment. When they see an irregularity in the score sheet, they'll fight a different fight. I believe open scoring will only hinder the boxers from going to work. It's better if boxing is done the traditional way with no open scoring.

"Open Scoring" in boxing just absolutely sucks! I cannot see the fairness of this to the boxers or the fans. I mean if a fighter is up on the scorecards, then of course he is not going to go all out or have a good finish in the final rounds. He is going to pussyfoot around the ring and be defensive which ends in a boring fight. If a boxer is down on the scorecards he just may give in. He'll give up and not give it his all out best knowing he cannot win the fight unless it is by knockout. Why should he risk hurting himself knowing he will not win? The only minute good thing about this is that it lets the guy losing the match know where he stands. Some fighters may take it as a "do or die" situation. This may make a good fight towards the end, but more than likely he will become too reckless and lose anyways. I have seen about 3 matches like this so far and absolutely cannot stand it. I hope they go back to the old scoring in the near future.

It is a bad idea for both fighters you have enough to think about while your fighting other than the scores a fighter knows when he is behind or when the fight is close maybe they should do it in big fights I hate the idea of it I can see more fights out side of the ring with the fans getting into it and they will how many time have you gone to a boxing match and there was not a fight in the stands the key is to get qualified judges and when they mess up suspend them for a year

When I see someone get robbed by a decision I lean heavily towards open scoring so I could try to understand what the judges saw/or didn't see the previous round. But on the flipside, when they disclose the scores it sort of takes an element of excitement out of it for some fans. I think it's good for the sport though because it's great for the corners and fighters to know exactly what they have to do win during the bout.

Maybe I'm a traditionalist but I don't like the open scoring system. The reason? If a fighter knows he winning the fight, he may more apt to not mix it up and coast toward a victory, instead of fighting thru to the end.

i agree with your concerns brent but also most fighters can feel when they are winning a fight and as much as i'm sure we don't like to admit it, the judges tend to get it right more often than not, so i don't know that it will make much difference...i would enjoy open scoring as a fan, but its effect on the vast majority of fights would be minimal in my opinion

In Greek mythology Pandora's interest led to her to open a field that have been given to her to guard. She released evil or ills onto humankind, even if, on the lowest of the field replace into one extraordinary shinning determine, who it grew to become out replace into "wish". So "commencing Pandora's field" has come to signify doing something that motives problems or problems for each individual. on the different hand, we nonetheless can carry out wish. examining the parable in any e book on Greek mythology will make the meaning sparkling.

19 out of 20 times it sucks. Its just a good idea that dosen't work. I think going another round in event of a draw is a better idea.

It is still too early to tell for me. I haven't seen it in a real close battle yet. I'm leaning towards against because I hate to see fighters coast to a win like Taylor did against Ouma.
