This led Germany to declared war on Russia and Serbia. This got the French to declare war on Austria and Germany. Italy then Declared war on Germany and Austria. Then United Kingdom and Empire declared war on Austria and Germany.

-Arms race Britain and Germany wanted to build more weapons and boats
-Imperialism-Germany wanted an Empire like Britain's
-Nationalism
-Germany wanted to unite all Germans in other countries
-Alliances, many countries were allies secretly which meant they all got roped into it

Serbia was at a "small war" with Austria-Hungry over land...Then that guy shot the duke.

So when the duke was killed, Austria-Hungry was pissed and attacked Serbia

Countries (Germany etc.) under treaties had to protect Austria-Hungry and attacked Serbia,

Then France had to protect Serbia, because of treaties. So pissed of Russia came in and attacked France.

Then England, from a treaty with France had to come in and fight Russia, who was friends with Germany...

Then Germany saw a ship (Lunista -spelling) and attacked it; however, this was America's ship so America came in...
