It seems to me that anyone vomiting blood is a sign of some internal problem and your cat should see a vet as soon as possible. Eating grass is normal for cats. It usually makes my cats throw up after eating grass though. Take him to the vet though.

Well if he is throwing up blood i'm not sure why you are on this board asking questions. I don't mean to sound mean, but my first thought would be, get him to the vet. Blood is never a good sign. Ok, as far as the grass goes, that's an easy one to answer. Cats aren't stupid, even though they act that way at times. Your cat knows that the grass is going to act as a sort of laxative and a relaxant to his system. I don't know how cats know this, but they just do. They automatically go for grass when they have internal system problems.

Cats periodically eat grass and throw up, that's normal for them. Throwing up blood, however, is NEVER normal. There could be many causes for this, and some are more serious than others. But NONE of them can be treated at home. You absolutely have to go to the vet, immediately.

When cats have a bad stomach they want to throw up to get rid of whatever is making them feel bad. The best way the know how to do this naturally is to eat grass. Since yours is throwing up blood it for sure isn't feeling good. The poor thing is trying to tell you something. Take it to the vet before it is too late! Please!

YOU MUST TAKE YOUR PET TO THE VET ASAP. Throwing up blood is not good. The vets can figure out whats wrong and can hopefully get your cat on to the road of recovery, do not ignore this.

By the way cats eat grass; it helps them to throw up hairballs. It is also believed that grass provides felines with roughage and vitamins.

Im not a animal doc, But The cat probably ate a bone and scratched his throught. the blood will cause a dog or a cat to have a upset stomach and they usually eat grass to calm it. I hope this helps, its sounds like you need to take him to the doc.

I hope by now you've taken the poor animal to the vet. You cat could have anythig from an ulcer that is bleeding, to worms or a scratch in his internal organs. But one thing is for sure he needs a vet and fast.

I don't know what's wrong, but if it were my cat I'd take it to the vet. I do know animals eat grass as a natural antacid, could be your cat has an ulcer. Have it checked out!
