My boyfriend tried to give up pop once. This happened to him too. I have heard of it happening to others too. Yep your body is craving that caffeine. Try drinking something else, like tea or coffee.

When I read the heading of your question I thought it was a religious joke, anyway, depending on what kind of pop you were drinking and how much of it per day, you could very well be having some caffeine withdrawal symptoms. You might try taking some Excedrin (or a generic for it) and be sure you are drinking enough fluids. This might help, since the med has caffeine in it.

I feel your pain. I gave up all sweets for lent. The entire category. I am dyin'. Next year I will give up something easier like,... yogurt. And of course everyone is offering me donuts and pie. Where were these people 2 weeks ago? I miss chocolate so much. Have a cup of flavored, caffeinated coffee, it should help. Good luck with the rest of lent. Only 34 days left!

Caffeine is a drug, so withdrawl will be quite unpleasant. If you just gave up pop, there are plenty to other sources of caffeine. Have a nice cup of tea or coffee. Have a no-doz pill.
Why do people give up things like pop for Lent?
Years ago, I gave up canned spinach for Lent, and I never looked back. Now I give up something unpleasant for Lent every year. It makes me grateful to God every time. Isn't gratitude what Lent is all about, after all? This year, I gave up canned potatos. Last year, I gave up being around people who smoke cigars. Not only has my health improved, I also smell better. Talk about gratitude!

Let me tell you something about pop, i am assuming you mean things like cola and sugary can drinks...
Do you know there are approx 10 teaspoons of sugar in a can of pop, and it is full of cafeine, do you also know that if you had say 4 cans a day that would be of course 40 teaspoons a day, so right now your doing your body good!
Its detoxing from all that sugar and all that cafeine!
And i said well done because your body is coming down from a high, and why i said well done is your body will work so much better with healthier drinks like water!
Try this spoon 40 teaspoons of sugar into a bowl, and then try and eat it, i bet you get to 5 teaspoons! and get stuck...
So well done! keep it up, and i hope you find an alternative to pop.

Yes, it is the caffeine withdrawal. It will usually go away in a few days though and you can take something like Ibuprofen to help with the pain. Or you could just drink some coffee or tea to get the caffiene back in your system.

Id say caffine withdrawls, whenever you body breaks away from a habbit it has been used to for a while, it kinda freaks out for a bit, but after some time it should go away and you will be fine

yes this is withdrawal. Try extra strength Tylenol for your headaches. Stick with it though because you will feel better without drinking those sugar filled empty calorie drinks. You may even see a bit of weight loss depending on how much you drank.

Yes, it's most likley caffeine withdrawl, but you should be pretty much over it. Try taking a couple of Excedrin (it contains caffeine) or drink some coffee or other caffeinated beverage. Run...don't walk to your nearest Starbucks! LOL

how much pop were your drinking?? if you're suffering caffeine withdrawal you need to seriously look at how much you were drinking and cut down - even after lent has finished
